My Unwanted Mate 19
MY UNWANTED MATE📒❤
Chapter 19
"What do you think I should do?" I asked almost immediately.
"Just admit your feelings for him and ask him out. No guy in his right mind would refuse you." Daphne replied and I sighed.
She is really clueless about my relationship with Keiran.
"What makes you think I have feelings for him?" I asked curiously.
"It's a lot more obvious than you think, best friend. It's written all over your face whenever you look around for him and talk to him too. There's no doubt that there's a certain connection between you too." She answered with a bright smile.
I was reading sense into what she was saying. Maybe what I needed to do was establish some communication between Keiran and I.
Would everything really be okay if I tried that? Keeping a mate was obviously a different story on it's own.
Rather, I decided to change the topic.
"What about your mother? Should the both of us go visit her at the hospital?" I asked and she shook her head.
"No, don't bother."
"Do you have any other family?" I asked curiously.
"No. It's just me and my parents." From the looks on her face, she didn't want to go on talking about it and I'd be selfish to go on about it.
• Keiran's POV •
I felt like my mistake can never be corrected even if I put in all my efforts and kept trying for a million years. I still can't make it up to everyone. I made a costly mistake by leaving this city.
I told Umbrie it was because I couldn't stand my father anymore but the truth was that I was also running from her. I didn't want the moon goddess to pair me up that I'll have to start loving someone which looks like hard work to me and I hate stress.
That was how I saw it and I thought she would be better off on her own. Again, I was wrong.
Hillary and Ace were holding me like I would disappear the next minute. They were such touchy humans.
"It's good to have you back, bro. I was scared to death when I learned you would be ditching school. What made you change your mind?" Hillary asked, looking pitiful.
"Gosh, toughen up, stray dog." I replied with a grimace. He hugged me with a rush that literally threw me off guard. He's such a grown baby when he's with me and Ace but around other people, he's some quiet nerd.
"What has gotten into you?"
"He is just happy you addressed him with the nickname you have for him." Ace replied rolling his eyes. He has been quiet all these while and from the look on his face, he wanted answers later. Probably what really happened to me.
Damien was right when he said this incident would affect us a lot. He wasn't wrong.
"I wonder what Umbrie did to bring you back. She must have a super power." Hillary chipped in still clutching onto my hand. Someone who didn't know us would obviously think we were gays at this point.
"After everything she did for you, you got the nerves to be hugging Sherry." Ace said glaring at me.
"She was crying so much and hugged me unexpectedly. I had to calm her down before withdrawing from her hold. She said something about her being kicked out of the press club. Ace, can you please talk to Harry for me to add her back. Turns out she made just one mistake." I said and he smirked at me. A cunning smirk.
"I practically miss your soft heart. Don't you, Hillary?" Ace grinned and Hillary chuckled.
"Yeah. Such a hot philanthropist. We are lucky to have you, Keiran. We are lucky to have your credit card to, aren't we?" Hillary smiled too and I shook my head glancing up at the huge tree above us.
"Snap out of it. Don't make me give you two a wedgy by hanging y'all on this tree." I threatened but they laughed because I wouldn't dare do that. You can hi ome on+2348055889183 to be added to story headquarters room for more stories.
It has been so long since I saw them.
It makes me remember everything I've missed and I'd fix everything. Just except for Umbrie. She deserves better so I'm letting her go. It might hurt but it's better than ruining her future.
"One question though to test if you're now really in your right mind." Hillary said gazing at me.
"Sure, go on and ask," I welcomed the task.
"What is my greatest sexual fantasy?" He questioned making Ace snicker.
I smirked. I can never forget.
"F**king a girl who's all tied up in the middle of nowhere, surrounded with snow and the weather is freezing." I listed.
"You left nothing out." Hillary stated fake crying.
• AFTER SCHOOL •
Leaning by my car which was packed across from the school premises, I could see Umbrie walking towards Jared's car whom had come to pick her up while Sky was at the back seat.
I could see how dull her face was.. She wasn't smiling as she entered the car and shut the door. Something in me wished I could do something about it but nothing was going to work at this point. She needs to rest though.
After seeing them drive off, I got in my own ride and headed home.
First, I'm lacking behind with school work. I haven't been in school for six months so my mother arranged extra lesson hours which I'll be taking in school because humans aren't fully welcomed in our home.
I didn't like the idea one bit but I have no choice. At this point, I'd fix my mistakes.
I was home before I knew it and before I packed my car, I spotted Noah - my neighbor arguing with his father.
We could have been friends except for something that happened before. He wanted to throw a party at my home but I declined because of the policies my father laid out and I was bent on obeying him though he wasn't always there.
Anyways, Noah hated me for that and although he stopped approaching me first, there was still that sadness whenever he looked at me so I avoided him.
I just hope, the bastard - Louis whom impersonated me didn't talk to him or do anything crazy which are not part of my standards.
It's worth worrying about so it doesn't taunt me later like my friends thought I had lost my mind and was going through a mental shift.
I was out of the car holding my empty bag and car keys while stepping into the house. I didn't exactly pay attention to the housekeeper and skipped several stairs up to my bedroom. It was like I was allergic to being downstairs.
I got to my bedroom which I forgot to lock and found two envelops and a paper lying on the bed. I tossed my bag aside and picked up the paper to read through it. It was a letter from my pathetic father.
It said in the letter that he went with mom to an emergency business trip and would not be back until the next week. Something about the letter pissed me off though and still, I couldn't help but have a bad feeling of their trip..
Some psycho rogues are on the loose and here they are going to get more money they don't even need.
I checked the other two envelopes and realized what they were — checks. The first check was written school books and emergencies — $20,000. And the second check was to get new clothes and shoes — $50,000.
I cringed staring at the figures. It's huge, I know but I'm also aware they dropped this so I don't feel mad that they left.
I got up with everything and dumped them in the trash in one swift move. If I spent that money, I'd hate myself later.
I heard a knock at the door and when I answered, the housekeeper looked in.
With the look on her face, I was scared she'd say 'Someone's here to see you' but instead she said...
"Your food is ready. Come have something to eat since you didn't eat this morning."
After having dinner alone, I returned back to my room and the moment I touched my laptop, I received a video call from my friend living in Rolpines. He has been worried sick about me since I didn't reply any of his messages for the past one month.
We talked for a while and he promised to visit Ice Valley soon. Not that I was looking forward to it because he was a very busy guy.
The housekeeper came just in time for me to drive us to the pack house because tonight, there was going to be a full moon.
