So-hee left for work early, leaving Min-ji in the apartment. After she'd told So-hee about everything between her and Ace and the encounter with Ho-Seok and Harriet, all So-hee could say was

“So when are you guys getting married?”

...

She locked the door and puffed out air from her mouth before heading to her SUV. She entered the car and slowly drove out, she was about increasing the speed when she saw Ho-Seok waving for her to stop, he was standing on the pavement.

She hissed loudly before stepping out, not because she wanted to see him but because she wanted answers

"Min..."

"Cut your crap and tell me why the hell are you in the estate I live" She snapped

Ho-Seok smiled, she's still wild like he'd known, he loves her even more now

"I came to see you Min-ji, I came to apologise" He said sullenly and she scoffed

" Tsk... tsk.. apologize? Really? Why? For leaving me stranded two days before our wedding? Stupidly, I want answers, tell me why you left" She asked, looking like a beast ready to kill

"I swear babe, I was compelled to leave..."

"Compelled? By who?" She asked raising a brow with her hands on her waist. He sighed and clasped his hands together before inching closer to her

"I got that contract with Shelly's company but with a price... but I swear I was doing it for us, don't judge me Min-ji" He said gazing deeply into her eyes and she chuckled

"And what was the price? lemme guess, you had to date Shelly's daughter so you decided to leave your fiancee. I'm disappointed with my first choice.." Min-ji started saying but paused when she noticed the same man in black from last night watching them keenly. She clenched her jaws

"I can't believe this" She muttered

"I still love you Min-ji...I swear, I've only thought about you...and Harriet, she's just..."

"A pawn in your greed filled game. Listen carefully to me buffoon or whatever your name is.." She began shocking him to the bone, did she just call him a buffoon?

His jaws dropped

"There can never be “US” ever again. Ever since that day you left, believe me I discarded you from my life like the trash you are...now get your f*cking sorry ass outta my estate" She ordered breathing heavily

The man in black watched them carefully, staying on alert, his hand on his pocket where his gun was, in case Ho-Seok tried doing anything to Min-ji

"I still love you babe" Ho-Seok said, hopefully

"Well I'm sorry cause I love someone else and that's Ace Heather, my boyfriend who would never leave me" She snapped and twirled going to her car and when she entered, she showed him the f*ck you sign, then the same at the man watching her before driving away

Ho-Seok ruffled his hair angrily, the thought of not having Min-ji made him furious and the fact that she was now with Ace Heather of all people made him angrier

"Argh!! Min-ji!!" He growled, his phone rang in his pocket. He looked at the caller ID and switched it off, it was Harriet.

“That pest..what does she want now..” He thought as he walked away

In the car, Min-ji couldn't help but think back at what she'd said about Ace not leaving her

“Min-ji, what have you done?” She thought with a long sigh

"And that witch, what the hell does she want from me? Why did she send men after me?" She asked through gritted teeth

[ SHINE ]**

So-hee kept pacing in front of Rhett's office all smiles with the file in her hand close to her chest.

There's now way he'd remain mad at her if she presented the file to him. She was mentally applauding herself while grinning

"So-hee you're really smart" She squealed

Hana who had been watching her from her desk, stealthily walked to her and tapped her shoulder lightly

"Oh hey Hana" She smiled

"Hey So-hee, what are you doing here and why are you smiling like that?" Hana asked

" Uh, nothing important" 

" It's about Felix right?" Hana asked in a gossip tone and So-hee shook her head

" No, no, it's not about him...I'm just happy"

Hana hummed and eyed her mischievously, "You don't have to deny it So-hee, it's kinda obvious..."

So-hee stared at her blankly 

" Huh? What's obvious..." So-hee asked confusedly and Hana laughed

 

Just then, Rhett's door opened, Lucy, Ella and Vivian walked out. They were in for a meeting

"Hey guys" Vivian smiled at them as she went to her desk

Lucy needed help so she borrowed Hana leaving So-hee to herself again, luckily Felix was not around, he, Clement and Soo-min went out to interview a few guests for their magazine

She exhaled and proceeded to open Rhett's door but it collided with his face, hurting his nose in the process

"Shit!!" He cussed and held his face

"Boss...Rhett" The staff stood up

"I'm sorry sir" So-hee panicked and covered her face with the file when she met his glaring eyes

"I'm fine" Rhett said to the others and they returned back to their work

"There's something called knocking" He said and she nodded slowly

"I found the file sir" She said in a tiny voice waving the file that still covered her face

He smirked and went back to his desk, he sat down and brought out a first aid kit from his drawer, took out a soothing balm and rubbed it on his slightly swollen nose

When he was done, he looked at her and she quickly covered her face with the file.

"Cute" He muttered

"Come here" He ordered and leaned back on his chair. She closed the door before slowly walking towards his table

"Give it" He said and she cleared her throat

"Sir?"

"The file So-hee"

"Oh, this file?" She chuckled nervously and took the file away from her face, slowly handing it to him

"Where did you find it?" He asked as he went through every detail in it. It was all intact like he'd expected initially

"Miraculously in front of my house" She beamed and he nodded

"I need to go back to work now, bye sir" She said quickly and turned to leave but his next question made her halt

"Why did you leave early yesterday...That too alone?" He asked seriously and she gulped

'I thought he forgot already'

"Uh... I didn't leave alone...I left with Felix" She grinned and faced him. He stood up and walked till he was standing in front of her, just a few inches between them

She kept batting her long lashes as she tried looking at everything but him. She felt hot and now, the AC which she'd always complained about didn't seem to be doing it's work

"What's your relationship with him... Felix" He asked slowly, hoping not to get disappointed

So-hee licked her lips and nibbled on the lower part nervously with her heart racing crazily. Her face suddenly flushed when their eyes met

He raised a brow

"He's my friend...just a friend" She said with their gazes still locked and he released the breath he'd been unknowingly holding

"Good, now you'd be stuck with me, nerd" He mumbled and then looked away.

"What?" She asked and he smiled moving back to his seat

"I have a job for you, now sit" He ordered and she pouted, which forced him to chuckle

She sat down reluctantly and fixed her glasses, when she looked up, she saw him holding a stack of papers and files

"Holy deity!" She exclaimed and he smirked before dropping it in front of her

"Your punishment for defying my order...get to work" He said and she gasped, her eyes almost popping out

"Sir.." She whined

"There's more" He said without looking at her and fixed his headphones ready to work on his laptop

So-hee made a sad face, "Mean!" She snapped and started working

He raised his head and his lips stretched into a smile when he saw her pouty face as she worked

He could hear his heartbeat, it was fast, yet peaceful and calm

'You thief' He thought with a smile

* [ A MALL ] **

Walking behind Mrs. Heather was a maid holding three shopping bags. She'd come to shop ahead of Min-ji's visit later in the day. She smiled so much her cheeks hurt, but she couldn't help it, this would be the first time in years since Ace showed interest in a girl

He didn't even bother taking down the news spread about their fake relationship which meant he liked it too

That elevated her joy.

"Wow!" She exclaimed when she sighted an exquisitely designed gown hanged behind a glass framed wall

Looking at the gown, she thought of Min-ji and how gorgeous she'd look in it

"Ma'am do you like it?" The maid asked and she nodded

"This is beautiful, let's get it for my future daughter-in-law" She led the way to the counter and asked for it

"It's been paid for already by a lady..." The attendant said and she frowned

"Let's go, we'll get another one more prettier and more expensive" She said and the maid nodded before trailing behind her as they left for the exit

Just after they left, a lady walked to the counter, she has killer body and pretty face, most of the men in the mall were drooling while staring at her fat ass which was almost propping out of her extra short gown

"Pack everything I paid for, I have somewhere to be" She ordered noisily and the lady behind the counter nodded

She took out her phone and stared at Ace and Min-ji's viral photos with a huge frown

"He's mine alone, and you Min-ji. I'll deal with you" She said hatefully

Soon, her bags were given to her and she left the mall. When she got into her car, her phone rang and she scoffed before receiving the call

"Mother!" She said snappily

"Anna, what is this? You returned to Korea and didn't bother coming to see me, now you're in Seoul?" The caller scolded and she rolled her eyes

"You have no right to know what I do with my life mother...Well now you know right, just f*ck off!" She replied rudely as she drove with high speed on the highway

"Anna!!"

"Anything else?" She asked

"Do meet your sister while you're there.. " She hung up before the caller could complete her statement

"Tsk... I'm here for my baby, I know he misses me as much as I do" She said dreamily as she continued speeding her way through the highway

* <<< LATER IN THE DAY... SHINE >>>

So-hee sat in the same position where she'd been since morning, working on the files Rhett gave to her. She hadn't even finished half of them and she was already tired.

Rhett had gone out for a meeting but not after giving her a strict warning not to leave

"Gosh, I'm just an intern" She mumbled and dropped her pen

A cute yawn escaped her mouth and she stretched her arms tiredly

"Bunny" She heard Felix call, she looked back but the blinds were down

"Aww...I'm in here dummy" She yelled

The door burst open and Felix entered, smiling

"Hey b. What are you doing here? I missed you alot" He pouted and she blinked with a sad look

"I'm working, boss is so mean" She said and he laughed shortly

"Let's go out for lunch, so you'd take a break" He said as he rubbed her hair

She wanted to stand up but didn't when she recalled Rhett asking her not to leave

"Yi-jun!!" She seethed and shook her head

"I can't"

" Why?"

" Uh..."

Rhett walked in holding package of foods in his hand. He stared at Felix for a while before setting everything down on the table in front of her

He looked at Felix

"Any problem editor Shin?" He asked while Felix kept looking at the food on the desk then slowly back to him

He shrugged

"I was just leaving" He said to him and winked at So-hee before leaving the room.

So-hee smiled and looked back at the food on the desk, there was so many dishes

"I didn't know what you like" Rhett said and she nodded

" I like everything tho... " She picked up a chopstick and took a bowl of noodles and started eating

"Slowly" He urged and she blushed embarrassingly

"You're cute" He smiled and she choked on the noodles, coughing continuously

He quickly stood up and gave her a bottle of water which she gulped down in a go...

"I just said you're cute and you try killing yourself?" He joked with a short laugh

He went back to his chair and picked his bowl and started eating too

"Thank you sir" She said shyly and continued eating

<< NIGHT>>

Rhett closed his laptop and stretched his hands. He sat up and looked at So-hee, she was asleep with her head on the desk. It's been almost 50 minutes since she started sleeping.

His eyes travelled out of his window and caught sight of Felix still waiting on his desk, tho he was working but he stayed back especially for her.

Rhett sighed feeling guilty, he let jealousy get the better of him and now, she was completely worn out because of the work he gave her. Unbelievably, she'd worked on every single file and that too accurately

He stood up and tried waking her up but typical So-hee, being a deep sleeper she didn't budge. He groaned and lifted her up in his arms in bridal style, good thing he had strong arms and she had petit structure

Felix stood up and rushed to him immediately he came out

"Give her to me" He said and Rhett smirked

"Don't worry, I'll take her" Rhett said firmly and made to leave but Felix blocked his path. Somehow, seeing So-hee in Rhett's arms triggered weird feelings in him and the way Rhett was behaving made him wonder

“Does he like her?”

"You should leave too, it's getting late and I heard the weather forecast announce a storm coming" Rhett said smugly and left him in deep thoughts

<<<ACE'S MANSION>>>

Min-ji hurriedly hopped out of her SUV and ran to the front of the house to avoid getting drenched by the rain, she ended up getting caught in it anyway. The downpour was heavy that it was almost impossible to drive. She was already halfway here before the storm began

She sneezed and sniffed. A maid approached her, "Hello miss, what are you doing here? Aren't you ma'am Heather's guest? C'mon, let's go in"

The maid led the way and before they could go further she started hearing voices

"I still love you Cherry boo and I know you love me too" A female voice said in a seductive tone and Min-ji almost ran out of the house, with the train of thoughts she started having but the next reply made her relax

"You shameless antelope, you publicly humiliated my son and left him and now when he has all the money and fame, you decide to get your little whoring body back to my house, such nerves!"

A slapping sound followed the statement causing Min-ji to gasp

"How dare you!"

Paaa...

"Ma'am" Min-ji called as she fully entered meeting them in an awkwardly battle like position. The lady backing her was holding onto her face while Mrs. Heather was standing with her left hand up ready to slap again

Ace who had been boringly watching everything from the dining table, stood up and walked to her with a smile

"You're drenched?" He asked rhetorically and took her hand heading to the stairs. Mrs Heather dropped her hand and smiled before hissing, she dragged the lady's hair and lifted her face so she could see Ace and Min-ji together

It was none other than Anna

" Ace!" 

"Not another word from your stinking mouth Anna, get yourself out of my house before I come down or you won't like the consequences" Ace spoke to her, the first time since she visited

" You can't just send me away, I'm your fiancee and not this cheap thing. Min-ji look at me when I'm talking to you!" She snapped harshly climbing up the stairs.

Min-ji turned around and smirked, "Well if it isn't my beloved stepsister, the one also known as a whore"

" Step sister!" Ace and his mom chorused looking shocked at the revelation

"Say that again," Anna was standing in front of her now tho on the lower staircase

"Whore..."

Paaa

Anna landed a deafening slap across her face that caused her to stagger briefly

"Anna!!" Ace raised his hand but Min-ji stopped him

"Let me...Anna Lee Nari, stay the f*ck away from my man, else..."

"Else what? and who says he's your's, he's my fiancee, so you stay away" Ana yelled back with rage in her eyes

Ace just kept looking at Min-ji, she looked really sexy at that moment and he could kiss her if she didn't stop talking

"Says the one with her body on showcase, asking men to marry her...Even heard one say your p*ssy tastes sour and could need rehabilitation" Min-ji said and Anna gasped boiling in anger, she raised her hand but this time, Min-ji slapped her so hard that she fell from the stairs rolling as she did

"Stay away!!" Min-ji glared

Ace's mom smiled satisfactorily, this was better than the dinner she'd planned

"Guards!! Come get this abomination out of my son's house, quickly!" She ordered and laughed mockingly at Anna who was groaning in pain on the floor

"Your man?" Ace asked Min-ji teasingly and she blushed

"Shut the f*ck up!" She snapped and walked upstairs like she knew where she was going

He smiled to himself before going after her
