Chapter 13

So-hee dropped her hands, her eyes kept widening when she saw Rhett on the floor holding his jaw while groaning in pain.

She felt her butt on something that wasn't her usual chair, this one was softer. She blinked quickly and looked around. Immediately she discovered it was Rhett's office, she started praying for the ground to swallow her up

"Oh no! Oh no!" She panicked and dropped her leg from the desk.

"I'm sorry sir" She apologized

"Get up!" Rhett said through his teeth, luckily the cabin was soundproof and he hadn't opened the blinds yet

"Huh?"

"I said get up!!" He growled and she quickly stood up from his chair, then started bowing continuously

"mian ham ni dae (I'm sorry)" She continued apologizing

"Get out!!" He ordered and quickly she tried rushing out but maybe the heavens were planning on making her day worse than it had already been, she mistakenly tripped on his leg.

She fell on top of him straddling him while her face was near his. She gasped sharply not making any attempt to stand up

Rhett slowly took his hands away from his face, his eyes met her emerald gaze on his face. He frowned

"So-hee!!" He called and she jerked

"What . are . you . doing?" He asked, counting his words. So-hee blinked and adjusted her glasses before moving away from his body

"Nothing sir. I'm sorry boss!"

"Get out!!" He ordered and she ran out immediately

Luckily the rest were too busy to notice that she came out of the CEO'S cabin, which was a relief

"Kim So-hee, you're in a lot of trouble" She palmed her face and moved to where Felix was, he was looking under Clement's desk

"Have you finally gone mad?" She asked him and he quickly stood up

"Look who's here. Where have you been, I've been looking for you all over the place" He said

"Good thing you didn't look in boss's cabin" She mumbled

"What was that?" He asked

"Nothing. I'll get the coffee" She hurried off to the coffee maker

"Did I hit him hard? Gosh!" She uttered worriedly thinking about Rhett's jaw

She made the coffee and took it to everyone as usual, then the last one for Rhett. She stood in front of his cabin, looking nervously at the cup

"Aissh, why me?" She asked herself and turned to see if Soo-min was busy. She sighed, Soo-min looked busier than everyone else.

So how would the coffee get to him. She's sure he already wrote her sack note and is waiting for her to make another mistake

"Hey" Felix said in her ear and she jolted almost spilling the coffee

"Seriously?" She asked in annoyance and Felix frowned, "Are you okay?" He asked

"No. Yes,, Can you do me a favor?" She asked, hopefully and he nodded, smiling mischievously

"Can you give this to the boss?" She pointed the coffee at him

" I can for only 150" He winked and her jaw dropped

So much money?

"So do we have a deal?" He asked taking the tray from her, she shook her head and quickly collected the tray back

"Monster..meanie...Go away" She kicked him on his legs while he kept laughing

"Good luck bunny" He laughed as he left to Lucy's desk

So-hee sighed and faced the door, she inhaled and exhaled before finally knocking

"Come in" Came Rhett's voice

She gulped and slowly pushed the door open before entering. Rhett was on his desk, staring attentively into his laptop

"Boss, I brought your coffee" She said slowly and Rhett raised his head

"You can have it" He said

"But sir..." She started but paused when she saw his hot glare at her

"Thank you for the coffee sir" She grinned and  briskly walked out

Rhett shook his head and chuckled softly before facing his laptop

[ Mrs Kim's Store and Flower shop ]

Mrs Kim was angrily explaining something to a customer. Mrs Chang who was always looking for ways to mock her wouldn't back down too. Just then Yu-ri entered the shop, looking like a pro model which she pulled up with her great sense of fashion

When she saw her mom yelling to the lady, she frowned and went to the counter

"What can we do for you Mrs cow?" She asked, not minding how she called the name

Mrs Kim breathed in relief and left the place for her daughter to handle the situation, else she was at the verge of slapping someone's wife

"Mrs cow? This girl, you're so disrespectful, how dare you address me in that manner" Mrs Chang ranted while Yu-ri sighed, rolling her eyes

"What else should I address you as, you're always mooing about something every time you come here. What is it now?" Yu-ri asked and she gasped holding her chest dramatically

"You..."

"da-eum gogaeg-i (Next customer)" Yu-ri screamed dismissively and Mrs Chang gasped

"You..."

"Me..yes me.. speak, speak" Yu-ri laughed hysterically till Mrs Chang started getting embarrassed

"I'll make sure to deal with you and your mother some other day, just wait and see" She  said angrily before stomping away. Immediately she left Yu-ri took a spray behind the counter and sprayed it everywhere in the name of purification

"That's better" She said after she was done but then a heavy knock sent her to the ground

"Eomma!! (Mom)" She yelped holding her head while Mrs Kim frowned placing her hands akimbo

"Yu-ri, what are you doing here, huh didn't I ask you not to come back till two weeks are over? Did you think I forgot just because of what you did to that woman? Now tell me or else..."

"Mommy, So-hee sent me out of the house, I'm homeless right now that's why I returned to you. Take me back, as a prodigal daughter" Yu-ri said batting her lashes while still holding her head

"Hmm.." Mrs Kim studied her face for a while, she nodded slowly and went inside. Yu-ri took the chance to stand up and dusted her body

"Just imagine if I killed Alisa, they would have disowned me already" She muttered, pouting childishly

Mrs Kim returned with two baskets of flowers and forced them into her hand

"Since you're here and willing to be a prodigal daughter, go around and sell these flowers okay?" She said and Yu-ri blinked faking dizziness

Mrs Kim laughed and picked the nearest broom and without doing anything, Yu-ri ran out, shouting

"Gorgeous, beautiful and fresh flowers for sale!!"

Mrs Kim sighed and dropped the broom

....

Yu-ri walked about the street aimlessly with the flowers in her hand. She hadn't sold any

"Mum wants to punish me" She mumbled. Her eyes lit up when she thought of something, why not go downtown to sell the flowers

It doesn't matter where she sells it as long as it's sold it's fine

"Hehehe... Yu-ri, you're so smart!" She praised herself and running towards the bus stop. She hadn't gone far when she got hit by a car, she fell on her butt while the flowers scattered to around

"Ouch!" She whimpered

People gathered round to watch the scene. Yu-ri opened her mouth to start hauling insults at the person who hit her but stopped when she saw him. 

"Mr cute guy!" She beamed

"Are you okay?" Ace asked as he helped her up. He picked the flowers too

"Next time , watch where you're going okay?" He advised and she nodded gleefully

"Hey, remember me?" She asked and he stared at her unsure of where he'd seen her

"I'm Yu-ri, Min-ji's sister, you remember Min-ji right?" Yu-ri asked and Ace smiled getting interested in the talk

"Oh, what are you doing around here?" He asked and led her away from the road

"I live down the street... Min-ji lives two streets away" She said, smiling mischievously

"Oh.." He nodded, mentally noting that down. He'd been occupied with Min-ji's thoughts since they last met at the groceries. He often wondered why a stranger he just met made him feel so happy

"I can even give you her number if you want" Yu-ri giggled and he nodded, handing his phone to her

Such a great opportunity

Yu-ri began typing but paused and looked at him with other plans in mind

"I'll give you the number on one condition" She said and he looked at her quizzically

"I want you to buy all these flowers!" She grinned. He took of the rose and sniffed

"These are organic..wow!" He exclaimed and she smiled

"My mom planted them. You can get more in our store towards the end of the street, just ask around for Mrs Kim's flower shop"

'Jackpot Yu-ri, advertising as well. Mom will be so proud of you' She thought

"Oh, I love flowers, I'll come around sometimes..So for this, 75¥" Ace said and her eyes widened, that is way more than the cost but who cares anyway... She'd just use out of it later

"Sold!" Yu-ri raised her thumb up, then she typed down Min-ji's number along with hers. She then stretched out his phone to him

"I saved mine with, “Cute Yu-ri”. You can call me in case she rejects you" Yu-ri laughed and waved at him before hopping away

Ace stared at her and shook his head, amusingly

"She's so shameless" He chuckled and looked back at Min-ji's number, then a wide smile appeared on his face. He had it at the back of his mind to call her later

[ SHINE ]

10:28 PM

"I'm exhausted" Soo-min groaned trying to adjust on her chair but ended up falling on the floor.

"Sorry" Everyone is in sync

All apart from Ella were working overtime; sending mails, creating catalogs, writing articles and attending meetings

So-hee is laying on the floor face up with her limbs wide open. In front of her is a stack of paper, a pen and a ledger

She's been sorting and writing reports all day and taking sneaky glances at Rhett whenever he steps out of his cabin

She closed her eyes and sleep took over

( 35 minutes later..)

"So-hee wake up, it's time to go" Vivian said packing her things.

Rhett had already addressed them and they were getting ready to leave. Only So-hee was still asleep on the floor.

Felix chuckled and got up from his seat and squatted beside her, "Sleeping beauty" He poked her cheek

"So-hee!!" The rest called at once and burst out laughing when she didn't budge

Felix chuckled more and sat down, it was amusing how deep she was sleeping

"Hey!" He rubbed her hair in an attempt to wake her up but she groaned and flipped to her side

Rhett and Lucy walked out of his cabin side by side, looking tired and sleepy too.

"Hey, what's going on here?" Lucy asked looking at So-hee on the floor

Rhett rolled his eyes and bent down, "Sleeping again, I hope she doesn't kick me now" He mumbled and tapped her

"Kim So-hee!!" He yelled and like magic, she woke up then sat up quickly

"Boss!" She stared fearfully at him hoping he doesn't fire her

The staff exchanged glances and burst out laughing again. Rhett also chuckled and stretched his hand out to help her up but Felix beat him to it. He frowned shortly and stood up

Felix and So-hee were having their usual arguments as they hurriedly walked to the bus stop

"You have a car right? Why don't you use it. I'm so tired" So-hee whined and wrapped her arms round Felix's neck

"I never imagined this day would ever exist" He replied and bent for her to climb on his back, which she did.

He grunted as he stood up and So-hee scoffed loudly into his ear

"You're so lazy"

A car halted beside them with a screech. It was Rhett, he was staring intensely at them, his eyes lingering longer at So-hee.

"B.. boss?" So-hee called, awkwardly

Rhett cleared his throat and forced a smile, "Hop in, I'll drop you off at the stop"

"No"

"Okay!" So-hee and Felix glanced at each other, glaringly. Felix grinned and dropped So-hee, "Sorry bunny but you're really heavy" He pulled her to the back of the car

"Get in!" So-hee just kept blinking innocently, she noticed Rhett had been staring at her and it made her feel uncomfortable

"Let's go dude...I can call you that right?" Felix asked as he entered the car.

"Sure, so where do you live" Rhett started driving

So-hee sat in silence and listened to their conversations. Felix said a few jokes which made Rhett laugh. Still, she found it strange that he hadn't fired her yet. She wore her earplugs and looked out the window

"Thanks for the ride dude" Felix got out of the car and So-hee tried doing the same but Rhett stopped her, "Do you also live here?"

"Bye bunny" Felix winked and jogged away

"He left me with him?" So-hee thought and a big frown appeared on her face

Rhett rolled his eyes and continued driving, glancing at her through the rear mirror

"So.." He started, wanting to break the silence that was starting to get on his nerves

"What were you doing in my office?" He asked, touching his jaw instinctively

So-hee gulped, "I...ehh, I'd gone to drop a file"

"Sitting on my chair with your legs on the desk?" He looked back briefly

"No, no... I.." She stuttered, scratching her head. How would she tell him that she sat down out of curiosity. The chair looked so inviting so she wanted to check how soft and comfy it was

Rhett stopped the car slowly by the sidewalk, on the highway.

'What is he doing?' She thought

Rhett looked back, "Out!" 

Her eyes widened and she gasped

"What?"

"Step out!" He repeated, while she kept staring at him in horror
